Live Chinese Money Plant
Also known as Pilea peperomioides is common house plant known for it's circular, coin-shaped leaves and ease of care. The Chinese Money Plant typically grows to about 12 inches (30 cm) in height, but it can spread out to about the same width. The plant features glossy, round, and fleshy leaves that resemble coins, which is why it's taken on the name "money plant."
Care Requirements:
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can scorch the leaves, while too little light can cause the plant to become leggy and the leaves to droop.
Watering: Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering can cause the leaves to wilt.
Soil: A well-draining potting mix is ideal. Adding some perlite or sand can help improve drainage.
Humidity: The Chinese money plant does well in average household humidity levels but appreciates occasional misting, especially in dry environments.
