Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Hibotan Pink goes by the common name ‘Moon Cactus.’ The plant originates from Africa and is a member of the Cactaceae family. The characteristic aspect of Flapjacks is its red-colored body that is mainly due to lack of chlorophyll. It is also the reason why Gymnocalycium mihanovichii grafting is necessary, else the plant can die. The summer-dormant plant requires partial shade rather than full sun exposure for good growth. The funnel/bell-shaped cacti grow to a height of 1 foot with a fast growth rate.
